Back in 1993, while DC was still in the conceptual stages, DC Co-founders Ken Block and Damon Way agreed upon a mission: to make a significant change in skateboard shoe style and elevate skateboarding performance to the highest level. In 1994, DC introduced protective lace loops into the world of skateboarding. This was a small step for footwear in general… but a massive leap for skateboarding footwear. From that first small step, DC has continued to fulfill its commitment to drive innovation and style in all that it designs, and all that it produces.
